Best places to play tennis in Santa Clarita

December 21st, 2021 | 4 min. read

By Jen Azevedo

Tennis is an extremely popular sport globally and it is no secret that Santa Clarita is full of avid tennis players and lovers. Santa Clarita occupies over 70 miles of land, so there is no doubt that you will find a tennis court that is ideal for you.

People may wonder where they can play tennis in Santa Clarita? Do they have to reserve a court in advance to play? Where can they purchase tennis equipment? Where can they find a tennis coach? Well lucky for you we will go into full detail and help answer those questions throughout the article.

We at the Paseo Club are very well known for our large and involved Tennis community and feel that we are credible and knowledgeable on the sport, and the many places you can play in our valley. With this being said we will do our very best to be as informative as possible and answer any questions you may have.

Local Community Courts

Tennis is an admired and favored sport to play across the nation, and what is so great about tennis is that if you want to focus on your game, you can learn and play 1 v 1’s with a friend, significant other, or family member. Or if you are a more team-oriented individual then you can learn and play 2 v 2’s and strengthen your skills as a team.

There are tons of tennis courts scattered throughout Santa Clarita, however, there aren’t as many tennis clubs or programs to join if you are an individual looking for a place to join. More often than not, you have to search for tennis coaches and classes to teach you the sport, otherwise, you are left with the responsibility of teaching yourself.

Some of the many places that you can find local courts to play are:

  • Valencia Glen Park

  • Santa Clarita Valley YMCA

  • Valencia Heritage Park

  • Bouquet Canyon Park

  • Richard Rioux Park

  • Tesoro Del Valle

If you don’t see an area that is located close to where you live then consider checking out this website, entitled Global Tennis Network. It enables you to look up any tennis facilities and courts closest to you. This resource helps to save you the hassle of driving around and searching for a local court to play at.

Playing at a local court allows you to save money on both gas and reservation of courts, and enables you to play tennis at your leisure.

Tennis Stores

Are you an individual that is looking to purchase some new tennis gear? There are some local hot spots where you can get yourself some tennis equipment, such as Big 5, First Serve Tennis Shop, and Dicks Sporting goods. These are just a few of the many well-known sports stores that are located across Santa Clarita valley.

It is recommended that if you aren’t very knowledgeable about tennis gear or specific brands, you should ask an employee at one of these locations for help, in the hopes they can assist you in finding the best equipment for you.

Tennis Coaches

If you are looking to learn the game of tennis or even sharpen and improve your skills then you may want to find a tennis coach to help you achieve your goals. Some well-known tennis coaches can be found throughout our valley. Here are the top 10 best Tennis Lessons in Santa Clarita, this is where you will find the most suggested places to take lessons.

Paseo Club Tennis (Private Club)

Maybe you are an individual who wants to play at a more private and closed-off tennis court location. If this is you then you may want to consider playing tennis at the Paseo Club. If you’re looking to learn the sport of tennis or even just touch up on your skills, then the Paseo Club may be a great fit for you. Here at the Paseo Club, we are known for having some of the best tennis coaches in the valley.

Our club now has eleven full-sized tennis courts that provide you with more than enough space to enhance and improve your skills. A huge plus here at the Paseo Club is that we have coaches who help teach and train the adults and youth of the Paseo Club about everything there is to know about tennis. In addition, we offer special programs that enable you to socialize and enjoy the sport of tennis.

If this sounds like an opportunity you are interested in, then maybe consider getting a Court Membership here, where you gain access to our tennis courts, as well as having the privilege of reserving any of the courts for your personal use. So, whether you want to play a set of 1v1’s or 2v2’s or strengthen your tennis techniques on your own, the options are endless.

Reservations

Even though Santa Clarita has many tennis courts within the valley, it can be difficult to find an empty court to play on. A Court Membership at the Paseo Club eliminates the hassle of trying to find somewhere to play and allows you to reserve a court at any time.

To many, this is personally a huge benefit due to the fact you have the leisure of reserving a court from the palms of your hand. With our Paseo Club App, you can book any tennis court for you and your friends to play on.

In addition to reserving courts at the Paseo Club, you can also reserve our tennis ball machine, which is known as the “Lobster Ball Machine.” This machine is Bluetooth and allows you to connect your phone to it across the court, so you can maintain the speed and time at which the balls are dispensed at you.

Clinics and Leagues

There are many benefits to joining the Paseo Club with a Couples Court Membership, such as joining our clinics which are classes that help you strengthen your skills and leagues that put your skills to the test, by playing real competitive matches.

Not only can you become more skillful in your court sport of choice, but you can also make friends along the way.

Our experienced instructors make your life easier on the court, whether they’re teaching you the sport from the ground up or sharpening the skills you already have.

Coaches

Here at the Paseo Club, we have a wonderful group of tennis coaches who are highly respected and extremely knowledgeable individuals about the sport of tennis. Some of our coaches are tennis professionals and are more than happy to help you learn the sport that they love and are so involved in.

For further information on all things tennis at The Paseo Club, please visit our website, or contact our club and they can direct you to our tennis director who can assist you with anything court-related you may need.
