5 Reasons why small group training at the Paseo Club is worth every cent

February 15th, 2024 | 6 min. read

By Jen Azevedo

Are you tired of hitting the gym and not seeing any changes?

Training on your own is difficult. It is hard to know what exercises are best, how many reps you should do, and at what weight — not to mention how hard to push yourself. It is also easy to perform the same movements over and over again — never truly seeing any gains.

If you want to get stronger, leaner, and diversify your workouts, then small group training is an effective program. But how can you justify the additional cost?

The Paseo Club is a social club in the Santa Clarita Valley that offers a range of fitness, court, and swim options for people of all different fitness levels. There are several small group training programs for people who want the benefits of focused attention in a supportive and encouraging environment.

In this article, we will discuss what small group training means, what small group programs are available at the Paseo Club, and why they are worth every cent.

f6e88abd-fbd9-4c23-b4ef-2fff5c417505What is the definition of small group training?

The definition of small group training is an exercise session with one trainer with only 3 to 8 clients. The purpose of small groups is to allow the instructor to become familiar with each of their clients and help guide them according to their goals and abilities.

What small group training programs does the Paseo Club offer?

The Paseo Club has a rotating roster of small group training programs for members of all fitness levels.

5 Reasons why small group training at the Paseo Club is worth it

1. Save Money

Depending on where you hire a personal trainer, they can cost $65-100 per hour. This is a fee that is simply inaccessible to the majority of people. When you attend small group training, you pay a fraction of the cost.

85235fee-7364-4133-ab4d-503c41e5890e2. Have more fun

Misery loves company — just kidding! Working out in a small group is a lot more fun than working out alone or with a personal trainer. You can joke, encourage, and swap stories with your “swole-mates.” This boosts endorphins and makes positive associations with your workouts.

3. Get results-driven programming

Small group training sessions are results-driven, each session building on the last session. Your skills, endurance, and strength continue to improve in measurable quantities. This is much different than dropping into a group exercise class where the level of complexity is often unchanging and without long-term goals.

4. Learn proper form and avoid injury

Training with a certified instructor in small classes allows you to receive personalized attention. They ensure you are moving correctly and make adjustments as they see fit. This type of guidance will help you learn proper techniques so you can be safe and injury-free.

5. Increases accountability and co-create camaraderie

Working out in a small group setting helps you to get to know others in your class. These connections often lead to friendships and socializing outside of the club. These new friends become your workout buddies who help you stay consistent in your attendance and push hard at every class.

Although you may initially think small group training is an unnecessary luxury, you actually will be safer, have a better experience, and be more successful in meeting your fitness goals.

Joining a small group training is a great choice for cross-training with your primary sport. Tennis and pickleball players play better, have more resilience for tough matches, and reduce injuries — just ask Paseo Club member Mike Zelster about his experience.

The Paseo Club has several small group training programs, so you can find a class that interests you and is at your level.

The Greatest Results and Tribe classes are available as a six-week series. The next series begins on February 26 and 27th, 2024. Pilates and blood flow restriction classes are offered ongoing.

To learn more about our programs, check out our small group page. Fitness Director Cezanne Youmazzo is also available to answer questions about which small group program would be best for you.
