Meet the New Paseo Club Controller Alyssa Gresham

March 18th, 2024 | 2 min. read

By Jen Azevedo

The Paseo Club team is excited to introduce you to our new controller, Alyssa Gresham. In this article, you will get to learn about Alyssa — her background, role as a controller at the Paseo Club, how she may be able to help you.

Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Santa Clarita. I moved away for college but found myself back in Canyon Country shortly after graduating.

How did you get involved in accounting?

My career actually began in hospitality, I started many years ago as a front desk customer service agent. I love connecting with new people — hearing their stories and learning about what brought them to Santa Clarita.

Through my years working with brands like Hilton, Marriott, & Hyatt, I was given the opportunity to work as an auditor. This position led me to become an accounting manager and then eventually a director of finance.

I found I was still able to connect with guests while also working closely with each department to improve their business. Ultimately, seeing my efforts create measurable results is very rewarding.

What is a controller?

A controller is responsible for accurately reporting and improving a company’s financials. These reports rely heavily on precise receivables and payables. A controller creates financial structure based around accounting principles so other leaders have guidance and direction. Overall, a business will thrive when a controller is able to minimize expenses and maximize profits.

How will you be helping Paseo club members?

I will be helping the leadership team create a more seamless guest experience. Some areas I will be involved in are:

  • Setting up ACH payments for monthly dues
  • Improving group class sign up and payment procedures,
  • Support the food and beverage department to review and update menu items based on sales and guest comments

The Paseo club could not exist without the dedicated club members, so their overall experience is a top priority.

What’s your favorite type of exercise or physical activity?

In 2023 I started my own weight loss journey. I’ve lost about 145 pounds through improving my diet and exercising. If I am at the gym, my go-to is the stairmaster. But if I am lucky enough to get outdoors, I enjoy hiking with my dogs Princess and Scrappy.

What do you most enjoy in your free time?

If I am not going to the gym, I love preparing new recipes, gardening, listening to podcasts or watching a nostalgic 90s rom-com.

Welcoming Alyssa to the Paseo Club

We are so pleased to have Alyssa join our Paseo Club team. We know her contributions will be of great help to the club and improve member experience. Please introduce yourself to her so she can get to know the club community!
