The Paseo Club is a social club that offers a wide range of fitness resources. As a member, you have probably checked out the courts, the group fitness classes, or the pool  — likely all three.

A primary goal of the Paseo Club is to be a social hub for living a healthy, connected life. Every month there are several social, fitness, and/or fundraising events for you to get involved in.

But did you know that the very biggest event of the year is just around the corner?

In this article, we will tell you all about the Paseo Club luau — what it is, its history, what to expect, and how to sign up to attend. Read on to find out more!

What is the history of the luau at the Paseo Club?

The luau has been an annual event at the Paseo for over a decade, but we have missed out on this tradition since 2020. This year is the perfect time to bring it back, melding the luau with our 20th-anniversary celebration.

The Paseo Club began in 2003 as a tennis club with 15 courts, a small fitness facility, a pool, and a clubhouse. Since then, the club has expanded to include more resources and services.

Today the Paseo Club is not just for tennis. It is a social club with tennis and pickleball courts, gyms, group, small group, and personal training options, childcare, a cafe, and a spa.

The calendar is always full of exciting events for members to participate in. Whether you come for a workout, a smoothie at the cafe, or to watch a tournament, the Paseo Club is a home away from home.

Why is this luau so special?

This luau is special for many reasons, but at the forefront is the opportunity to celebrate the community together.

With the return of the Paseo Luau, it feels like we’ve truly come out of the pandemic era and moved into a new chapter of living the Paseo Life.

This healthy, connected community is so special, and the luau is a big party to really celebrate the unique life the club offers.

6 activities people can look forward to at the luau

The Paseo Club has not held back in planning the luau! Here are six ways to have a blast.

  1. Delight in being greeted at the door with a welcome drink and lei
  2. Join a game of limbo, hula lessons, or the Hawaiian shirt contest.
  3. Sit back and be entertained by Hawaiian music with drummers and dancers.
  4. Create a memento of the night by taking pictures with friends at the photo booth
  5. Dine on the great island fare and drink the fun tropical cocktails.
  6. End the night with the DJ dance party!

What food will be available at the luau?

Come hungry to the luau because Chef Mike is cooking up a Hawaiian feast with a whole pig as the centerpiece. It will be a pit-roasted lechon pig, cooked in the traditional Hawaiian manner.

Side dishes include island macaroni salad, steamed rice, and spam-fried rice. Pineapple upside-down cake will be served for dessert.

What drinks will be available at the luau?

People will receive one Signature Paseo Mai Tai when they enter. The Blue Hawaiian, Pina Coladas, and a full bar will be open for purchase (credit card only).
