The Paseo Club loves to keep its selection of fitness classes fresh and innovative. The club is pleased to introduce you to the new heart-beating, muscle-burning, and one of the most exciting and challenging classes, BURN.

BURN uses freehand weights, machines, and cardio movements in a dynamic combination to help you maximize your fat burn and increase cardiovascular fitness.

The Paseo Club is a social club in the Santa Clarita Valley that has supported members in health and fitness for twenty years. The club offers over 60 group fitness classes every week, small group training programs, and personal training.

If you love a high-intensity fitness class, then BURN may be a great choice for you. In this article, we will answer all your questions about BURN and share the six benefits of attending BURN classes.

BURN is a high-energy, explosive workout designed to target big muscle groups. It combines heavy weights with explosive cardio for the most effective impact.

BURN is a small group training class, so participants get more personalized guidance. The fitness coach watches each individual closely, instructing for safe and effective movement.

What equipment is in BURN class?

Members will use weighted balls for slams, kettlebells for swings and lifts, TRX for bodyweight resistance exercises, dumbbells, and the weighted sled for pushing and pulling. Class participants will get to try out the new ski and row machines too!

What is the flow of the class?

Class begins with a warmup that includes mobility exercises to get the blood flowing, open joints, and enable the body to move efficiently through the heavy-weight work.

The middle portion of the class lasts roughly 25 minutes. This section focuses on heavy lifting, which accelerates the heart rate and is followed by explosive agility exercises such as box jumps, ball slams, battle ropes, and other similar activities.

The class will end just like it began with a cool down section to include more mobility and stretching leaving the clients rested and rejuvenated.

There are several benefits to attending this exciting strength training class!

  1. Heavy lifting builds strength in large muscles, giving the athlete power and endurance — essential for functional fitness and cross-training.
  2. Heavy lifting helps to prevent bone loss. Resistance training triggers the growth of new bone cells, lessening the chance of osteoporosis.
  3. Heavy lifting boosts your metabolism, burning calories even after the workout is done. This is a great system for shedding excess body fat and toning your physique.
  4. The cardio portions of the class will strengthen your heart muscle. The stronger the heart muscle, the more fit the athlete. Strong cardiovascular health will reduce your risk of heart disease, high blood pressure, and diabetes and improve circulation.
  5. A strong body gives you more resilient muscles, which can reduce the risk of injury in everyday activities.
  6. Athletes should see an improvement in posture and core strength. A strong core can protect the body from falls, which is a greater risk as you age.

Who should come to BURN class?

Anyone can attend BURN class. Modifications are made for those who have injuries or physical limitations. Make sure to come prepared to work hard and be outside of your comfort level.  You will lift, jump, throw, run, and do more than you believe you can.

Anybody who should not attend class?

Anyone with serious health conditions or injuries should consult with their healthcare provider before attending BURN.
