What is happening at the Paseo Club in May?

May is a gorgeous time of year in the Santa Clarita Valley. The temperatures are creeping up, and the hills are still green. The air is fresh, and it is a great time to enjoy the outdoors and all the fun events happening indoors.

May is a busy month at the Paseo Club. There is a wide range of activities you can jump into, from Mother’s Day Celebrations to pop-up classes, to tournaments on the courts.

The Paseo Club is a social club in the Santa Clarita Valley that values health, fitness, and a sense of community. We have members of all ages who enjoy our pool, tennis and pickleball courts, and gym facilities.

We also love an excuse to get together as a community, creating social connections and building friendships.

So, buckle up, grab your calendar, and see how much fun you can schedule into your life this May! In this article, you will learn what events are happening at the Paseo Club in May, when the activities will happen, and how to sign up. 

For your convenience, all events are listed in the order in which they will occur.

Events at the Paseo Club in May 2023

comp_IMG-3857April 17th - May 25th: Greatest Results Fitness Challenge 

Greatest Results is a group class led by Paseo Club instructors to help you eat healthier and train smarter. This is a great program for people who want to see results in their strength, endurance, and physique in a short period of time. 

Although this class began in April, people are welcome to join in at any time. Choose from the following sessions.

  • Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6 am with Justin
  • Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:30 am with Tara
  • Mondays and Wednesdays at 6 pm with Cézanne 

May 1-15: Spa Specials

The spa at the Paseo Club is offering Mother’s Day Specials. If you are looking for a gift you know your mother (or wife, grandmother, aunt, sister, or any other hard-working mother), will love, look no further, Treat the woman in your life to something relaxing and restoring with a facial, massage, or the best of both worlds — a facial and massage package. 

  • Mom and Me Facial - Buy one facial, get the second one ½ off
  • Facial and Massage Package for $199
  • Pamper Your Mom - $20 off of two massages ($180)
  • Show Your Love - $10 off one massage (60 minutes is $90 and 90 minutes is $130)

May 2, 9, 16, 23, 30: Taco Tuesdays

Taco Tuesdays are a huge hit at the Paseo Club. At $2 per taco and $7 for margaritas, dinner out is a steal. Choose from steak, chicken, or barbacoa (or all three)! Tacos and drinks are served from 4-9 pm.

Add a little mid-week fun to your life by coming to the Paseo Club’s Wine Down Wednesday. There is a wide selection of wine available, as well as a rotating selection of mixed drinks. WDW begins at 6:30. No registration is necessary.

The live entertainment schedule is as follows:

  • May 24 New Recruits

May 3-4: Level Up Pickleball Camp

Level Up Pickleball Camp is the premiere pickleball camp for 3.0-4.5 players. This camp offers 12 hours of training over two days. Camp is led by pickleball instructor Joel Ickes — a national gold medalist. Groups are kept small so participants get plenty of attention. Learn about all aspects of pickleball, receive a video analysis of your technique, and develop strategies to score more points. Register at Level Up Pickleball Camps or call 1-888-308-3720. The cost is $595 for the two-day camp. 

 

May 5: Cinco de Mayo Round Robin

Join the Paseo Club for exciting tennis matches from 6-8:30 pm on May 5. Bring a partner and pay $25 per person to register for this event. Winners receive awards. After the round robin, relax with a margarita on the porch. Register by May 3 to secure your spot.

If you prefer a paddle to a racket, join us for a Scoreholio as we take to the pickleball courts! Play will begin at 6 pm, and players are invited to join at the 3.0, 3.5, or 4.0 level.  Sign up on the Scoreholio app.

May 5: Cinco de Mayo Fun on the Patio

Whether you played at the round robin or not, come for carne asada and margaritas! DJ Cee will be spinning tracks to set the mood. This event starts at 6:30 pm. It costs $25 for adults and $17 for kids. No registration is needed. 

 

May 7: Spring Play Date 

kidsclub_oJoin the crew at Kids Club for an afternoon play date from 2 pm-5 pm. Kids will enjoy games, crafts, and a special showing of Springtime with Roo. This event is for kids ages 3-5 and costs $15. Register by May 5 by contacting the Kids Club staff.

May 11: Mother's Day Mixer 

Join us for a Mother's Day tennis mixer. You don't need your mom, or to even be a mom — just celebrate the one you have. Tennis will begin at 9 am and will culminate with mimosas and flowers at 11 am. Register by using the QR code on the Paseo Club flier. The fee is $25 per person. You must have a partner to play.

Stretch and tone with Melanie in Pinot and Pilates class. After class, taste delicious appetizers and two glasses of wine per person following the workout. This class is $40. Register on the app.

May 12: Pop-Up Step Class with Dana 

This step class is a fundraiser for the Single Mothers Outreach. Single Mothers Outreach supports single parents of the Santa Clarita Valley through donations of clothing, food, and school supplies, support for social services, skill development, and counseling. Step class is from 5:30-6:30 pm. The cost is $15. Sign up for class on the Paseo Club app.

Treat the mother in your life to a delightful brunch and mimosa at the Paseo Club. Mother's Day Brunch is served at noon on the pavilion. Enjoy the fresh air and leave the cooking to us. Contact Tara Russell to reserve your seating. The deadline is May 12. Brunch for adults is $39 and $17 for kids. 

May 19: Mousercycle Pop-Up

Madeline Broz is going to get you working hard on stationary bikes while listening to music from top Disney movies. Belt out your favorite songs and rack up some miles. The class starts at 6 pm. The class is FREE. 

May 19: Kickoff of Friday Night Grilling on the Porch

The Paseo Club will barbecue on the porch every Friday night to celebrate good weather. Enjoy weekly specials and drinks. This event is a great place to eat after working out in one of our group classes or playing a game of tennis or pickleball. Relax and dine with us! 

kids_tennis-1May 20: Summer Tennis Camp Open House 

Are you interested in getting your child or teen to play tennis? Come to this open house at the Paseo Club from 1-2:30 pm on Saturday, May 20, and learn about our youth tennis program. There will be tennis games, drills, and prizes. This event is FREE, but you must reserve your spot by May 18th.

May 20: Bike Safety & Maintenance Workshop

Come to this FREE class and learn basic bike repair, including how to change a tire, and fix a broken chain. Instructor Mikael Schmidt will also cover basic road and mountain biking safety tips. This class begins at 10:30 am. No registration is needed. This class is open to non-members as well for $15.

May 25: Pros Exhibition Series Begins!

Join us on Thursdays during the summer to watch your favorite pros in action! Every Thursday a new match-up will be announced, as guest pros come in and take on your Paseo favorites. Who will win the court this summer?  

Beer specials and appetizers will be available courtside. High-level tennis is the best way to start the summer weekends! This event begins at 6 pm. No registration or fee is necessary.

Dive-In Movie Nights is one of the best family-friendly activities at the Paseo Club during the summer. Beginning May 26th, on every Friday night at sundown, the Paseo Club plays a movie. This week it is Puss in Boots. Grab a meal from the grill and then stick around to enjoy a film together. No registration is necessary. FREE.

May 26: Spring Date Night 

Children ages 4-12 can have a special night with the Kids Club staff to play, craft, and watch a featured showing of Peter Rabbit. Parents get to take the night off and enjoy classes and food at the club or out on the town. Spring Date Night is from 5:30-9:00 pm. Secure your child’s spot by May 24 by contacting the Kids Club staff.

Weekend Warrior is an event for 4.5+ level DUPR pickleball players looking to compete at a high level for cash prizes! Men’s play doubles on Saturday and Mixed play on Sunday. 

There will be 12 teams in total and each team plays all the others. Full-on, non-stop play goes from 1-5:30 pm. The cost is $75 per player per bracket. 

This will be an outstanding opportunity to watch some amazing pickleball at Paseo Club for the weekend. Whether you play the game or not, you’ll be impressed by the high-level play.

May 29: Memorial Day Tennis Mixer

Memorial Day Mixer is an opportunity for members to come out and play a round robin tennis game. All levels are invited. Simply grab a partner and pay $25 per person. Celebrate with mimosas afterward. The mixer is from 10 am-12 pm.

The Memorial Day BBQ is a family staple at Paseo Club, and the unofficial kick-off for the summer. Take part in the fun events of the morning, including the tennis round robin and Barbells & Beers kettlebell class. Then, get the family together and come enjoy the afternoon by the pool. Feast on great barbecue, enjoy the pumping music, and relax at the poolside of the club! The Memorial Day BBQ is from 12-4 pm. 

 

May 29: Bells & Beers 

Get an awesome kettlebell workout at Bells and Beers taught by instructor Cayden Dunn. This class begins at 9:00 am in the Tribe Room. It costs $25 per person. The fee includes the class and one cold beer in the clubhouse.

This month is going to be great at the Paseo Club! There are events for members of all ages that cover exercising, fundraising, eating, socializing, and relaxing. The Paseo Club truly has it all.

The Paseo Club is a social club that has been an integral part of Santa Clarita Valley for almost 20 years. We support our members in health, fitness, and building community. 

Members enjoy a selection of over 60 fitness classes each week, tennis and racquetball courts, and a junior Olympic pool. There is also a cafe and an onsite spa.
