What is happening at the Paseo Club during the Season of Resolution?

The New Year is here, and it is time to celebrate a year completed and a brand new year before us — fresh with possibilities and potential.

Many of us are in a place of reflection and contemplation, considering what is really important for 2024. Whether it is more time with family, better work-life balance, or improved health, the Paseo Club team is here to support you.

The Paseo Club is a social club in the Santa Clarita Valley that has served the local community for twenty years. Whether it is fitness, pickleball, tennis, youth programs, or something else, we offer several ways to engage and be active in the SCV.

The Season of Resolution is the Paseo Club’s next period of classes, mixers, tournaments, and more! Read this article to learn what events you want to join. There are dozens of choices to help you nurture your and your family’s lives.

Events at the Paseo Club during the Season of Resolution

This six-week small group challenge will help you get the support and experience the fun you need to make new healthy habits! Class meets three times every week, so there is a time slot for you and your busy schedule.

This program begins and ends the season with a physical assessment. The assessment includes cardio, strength, endurance, and power tests. The purpose is so each participant can measure their improvement after completing the program.

You will receive daily emails from Precision Nutrition, helping to shape your behaviors and nutrition habits, a personal macronutrient guide, a supermarket field trip, and a cooking/food prep lesson.  

  • Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:30 am 
  • Tuesdays and Thursdays at  8:30 am 
  • Mondays and Wednesdays at 7:00 pm 

The cost for the Greatest Results Challenge is $300, which includes all the classes, the field trip, and nutritional support. Register today to help you start the New Year on track!

January 13: Meet The Pros

You are invited to meet the Paseo Club tennis staff by playing a little tennis with each instructor. Each coach will be on a different court teaching a specific skill — volleys, ground strokes, etc. Members move to a new court every twenty minutes to meet a new instructor and practice a different movement. This event begins at 9 am and is free. Register today!

January 15: Tribe Season of Resolution Small Group Training

comp_IMG-5741This is a six-week program designed to help you get in shape. With personalized attention from trained instructors and a fun, supportive atmosphere, you are sure to have success meeting your New Year’s goals. 

You pick your format, instructor, and time! There are three types of training to choose from. 

  • Tribe Extreme HIIT is our more advanced competitive program, and focuses on strength and endurance conditioning using a high-intensity interval training format. Although this class is challenging, it is open to members of all abilities.
  • Tribe Functionally Fit is a low-impact program that helps build cardiovascular endurance and functional strength. The instructor will ensure you maintain the correct intensity during your workouts to decrease body fat and increase energy levels. 
  • Tribe Core Strength targets the muscles around your pelvis, hips, back, and abdomen, starting from the deep torso muscles. This class will help you to slim your waistline and firm your abs. This program incorporates flexibility and stability training to help you achieve structural longevity and powerful, pain-free movement.

Angie, Tarra, and Haruko are offering spa specials to pamper you and your loved ones. 

  • Champagne and Rose Facial

Angie will combine the hydrating, exfoliating, and antioxidant properties of champagne oil and grapes in this delicious facial. $130.

  • Couple's Massage Delight

Sign up for 60-minute massages for you and your partner with massage therapists Haruko or Tarra. Choose a Champagne Rose or Chocolate Scrub and Cream. $200. 

  • Royal Treatment

When you are ready to luxuriate in self-care, choose the facial and massage special! $200. Contact any practitioner at the spa to sign-up for this treatment. 

Kids-club (2)January 19: Out of This World Date Night

Young members of the Paseo Club are invited to join the Kids Club for an evening dinner, movie, and fun with friends! Parents are welcome to go out and have fun off the club premises while kids are in the care of Kids Club staff. 

This month’s Date Night is space-themed! So kids can grab their favorite astronaut suits and come play.

This event is from 5-9 pm and costs $40 per child. Dinner is included. The child must be 4-12 years old and be potty-trained to attend. Register by January 17 to reserve your kid’s spot.

January 19: Pinot and Pilates

Have fun stretching, strengthening, and mobilizing your body. Follow it up with some R and R with your fellow members! Enjoy an hour-long Pilates reformer class followed by wine and appetizers. This class is for all levels. It begins at 6 pm and costs $40. Register now to ensure your space in the class!

January 19: Black Light Pickleball

Dress in brightly-colored clothes and glow stick jewelry for a fun night of blacklight pickleball! This event is from 6-9 pm and costs $15 per player. Register in advance or drop-in to join.

January 20: Junior Tryouts 2024

Paseo Club members ages 5-15 are invited to come out for Junior Tryouts. Check out the comprehensive junior tennis program at the Paseo Club — from Paseo Future Stars to High Performance, and everyone in between.
Tennis Director René Heger will demonstrate aspects of the club’s program and talk about the current state of junior tennis. This event begins at 10 am and is free.

January 26: Line & Wine

Put on your dancing shoes (or comfy sneakers) and come learn all of the new party line dances. Have a great time being active, visiting with friends, and listening to lively music. This class is for beginners, no need to worry if you have two left feet! Line and Wine begins at 6 pm and is free. Register to join.

 

January 27: Aussie Rules Tennis Mixer

The Aussie Rules Mixer is a special mixer event in honor of the 1st Grand Slam Tournament of the season — The Australian Open 2024. 
Join us Saturday morning in your best Australian Open gear for a morning of fun! Play will begin just after the mandatory photo at 9 am. Enjoy 4-5 rounds of some fun tennis before we all enjoy a themed drink at the Clubhouse. Prizes for winners as well as for the best Aussies on the court! $25 per person entry.

January 27: Coed Juniors Tournament Match

Kids ages 7-17 are invited to participate in a friendly tennis tournament. This event is open to the first 40 people who register. Pizza and awards follow! Arrive at 12:30 for check-in. Play is from 1-4 pm. Contact Coach Gabe to register. The cost is $35.

February 7: Footwork and Mobility Work for Tennis and Pickleball Players - NEW Class!

The Paseo Club instructors are offering a custom class just for tennis and pickleball players. The movement patterns you will learn in these sessions are great for all levels to develop a tennis and pickleball-specific strength and conditioning program. This class is held on Mondays and Wednesdays 5-5:45 pm and Sundays 8:00-8:45 am. The cost is $15-25 per session, depending on package pricing. 

A FREE Footwork and Mobility class will be offered on Monday, February 5 at 5 pm. Register now!

February 8: Paseo Club Community Blood Drive

The Paseo Club is holding a community blood drive from 10 am - 4 pm. Donating your blood will take only a few minutes of your time. An adequate blood supply depends on everyday individuals just like you. Schedule a time to come in on Thursday to make this life-saving donation.

February 9: Pinot and Pilates

Join Coach Jodi in this wonderful all-level Pilates reformer class that will strengthen and lengthen your body. Following class, enjoy a glass of wine with your classmates. This class begins at 6 pm and costs $40. Register today.

Come out for the first of four Color Wars for 2024 at the Paseo Club. Participants are divided into teams, each of which is assigned a color. The teams compete against each other to determine the overall winner by accumulative score. It costs $45 to participate. Play begins at 9 am. 

 

 

 

February 13: Valentine's Day Pickleball Ladderball Tournament

Bring your spouse, sweetie, or friend to play pickleball on Tuesday, February 13th. The Paseo Club will host a ladderball tournament from 6-8:30 pm. The winner takes a prize! All levels are invited to participate. $10 per person to play if you register by February 10. It is $20 afterward. Register now!

February 14: Love Means Nothing Valentine's Day Tennis Mixer

Love means EVERYTHING to a tennis player, and we are ready to kick off the holiday with some great tennis! It will be hosted in a round robin format, and divisions will be created based on players.  
Coordinate your best Valentine's outfits with your partners! Meet for a team photo at 9 am sharp. Play will begin at 9:15 am, Enjoy several rounds of battle before heading to the patio for mimosas and celebrations for our champions!
All levels are welcome! $25 to attend. Register today!

February 14: Cheese and Valen-Wine

Come to this very special Wine Down Wednesday at the Paseo Club. Bring a friend, neighbor, or fellow member for wine, cheese, and dancing to the Mary Dyer Band. This event starts at 6:30 pm and goes until closing. No fee or reservation is necessary.

Are you looking for a fun night for your kids on Valentine’s Day? They can come to the Paseo Club for an evening of dinner, movie, and fun with friends! The Kids Club staff is hosting a Valentine’s Date Night so parents can be free for a special evening for themselves!

Date night is Valentine's-themed. It is from 5-9 pm and costs $40 per child. Dinner is included. Children must be 4-12 years old and potty-trained to attend. Register by February 12 to ensure your child’s spot.

February 16: Line and Wine

Join Fitness Director Cezanne in this FREE pop-up class. Learn the latest dances and have fun with fellow members. After class, grab a glass of wine and socialize! No pre-registration is needed.

Bringing in the New Year at the Paseo Club

The Paseo Club team is here for you and all your New Year resolutions and goals. We can help you get on track with a healthy, active lifestyle that supports your physical, emotional, and mental well-being.

The Paseo Club is for all SCV residents, from babies to seniors. There are classes and programs for everyone.

Court lovers enjoy the drills, drop-in play, and leagues in the pickleball and tennis departments. Lap swim, lessons, aqua cardio, and Master’s swim are all available for those who love the water. Juniors can join the swim team or learn karate, tennis, and fitness.

Jen Azevedo is a tennis professional, pickleball professional, personal trainer, group exercise instructor, and the general manager of the Paseo Club. She loves the community at the Paseo Club and that it is also a safe and fun place for her daughter. Jen’s favorite activities are joining her tribe for trail races or her partners for tennis matches. Occasionally Jen slows down to relax with a book — she reads over 100 a year!
