Parental Escape

Most fitness club daycare facilities offer little wiggle room for "alone time."

In fact, many insist that parents remain on the club premises while their child is enrolled at the respective daycare center.

But The Paseo Club's Kids Corner in Valenca, CA has a refreshing new take. "Date Night" and "Drop & Shop" are two parent-promoted events that offer Moms and Dads some alone time and a much-needed escape.

Children between the ages of 4 and 12 (ages 2 and 12 for Drop & Shop) are provided with dinner, a movie, hands-on crafts, games and free-play while parents can enjoy a night on the town knowing their little ones are in the best of care (RSVP required). Both events are offered twice a month with a 3-hour window.

Several University studies have found that parents who spend "kid-free" time win in far reaching ways.

Adult conversation, outside hobbies and romantic escapes are just a few of the parental perks that Moms and Dads reap with their night off. At the same time, children gain long-term benefits while left in the proper care of others, including increased self-reliance, confidence and trust.

The toughest part of being a parent may be finding the time to not be one-- even if just for 3 hours. The Paseo Club's Kids Corner has your back. And your escape.
