The Right Shoes For Your Child

Have you ever noticed the many different styles of footwear that is available for children?

There are simply too many choices for parents to make when it comes to what goes on their kid's feet.  I think it's safe to say that there is a shoe for every activity imagined. There are water shoes, sports shoes, dance shoes, character shoes, dress shoes, and casual shoes for everyday life. Matching the shoe to the activity optimizes the child's safety and overall experience.  Properly fitting shoes help kids with stability, protection and confidence.

Newly walking toddlers rely on stable footwear to help them move across the playroom as well as navigate the playground.

Dress up shoes may enhance creativity by allowing children to make believe that they are their favorite superhero or princess, but definitely belong at home and not on the playground. Outdoor surfaces may be rough and uneven for new walkers to maintain balance.  This makes a simple trip to the playground a potentially dangerous excursion. It doesn't make for a safe experience when a young child is wearing high-heeled shoes while running around outside on the playground.

With uneven surfaces and unsupported ankles, young children are more likely to fall and get injured.

Dress up shoes aren't usually made with the same quality as regular children's shoes.  This can lead to achy feet which slows down kids and negatively impacts their mood.  Playtime is a serious job that kids should be prepared for each and every time they show up to the playground.

So parents, remember to always equip your child with the right shoes. At The Paseo Club, your children are very well cared for and we're always looking out to ensure they have the best possible experience.
